April 2, Kulgam : Executive Member, All Party Hurriyat Conference and Acting Chairman Jammu Kashmir Peoples League, Mukhtar Waza Saturday visited Kulgam , where he interacted with group of intellectuals and said that APHC has always supported and will continue to prop up meaningful and result oriented dialogue vis-à-vis Kashmir and expressed heartfelt ecstasy over the resumption of Indo-Pak talks .
“For de-escalation of tension between India and Pakistan , who are nuclear states and Kashmir is the only friction point between them , thus only parleys can bring them close ,” Said , Mukhtar, adding that those who are ready to lose can win in any conflict .
Waza reiterated that stated positions of India and Pakistan has brought them at the extreme conflicting situation and giving no solutions .
Executive Member APHC , Mukhtar Waza maintained that if Kashmir imbroglio is resolved as per the sentiments of common Kashmiris , then definitely a new dawn of happiness and prosperity will arise on the horizon of South Asia.

PDP Protested against failure of NC-Led government in the state

Islamabad Jan19: Parodying the NC-led government in the state as aadam khor, bacha khor, rishwat khor and kaam chor, the opposition PDP on Wednesday  protested against the rulers, saying that the dispensation had failed to meet its three-month deadline for reform.


In Islamabad, party president, Mahbooba Mufti led workers and supporters in a procession from the wazir bagh, carrying lanterns to decry massive power shortage and rhyming placards to sketch the NC’s performance in office.
On hoisting of the tricolour at Lal Chowk on Republic day, Mehbooba said it is a fixed match between BJP and ruling National Conference, as the BJP wants media hype.
"It is a fixed match between BJP and National Conference. They have been partners before and they are helping out each other now," she alleged.




Jammu and Kashmir lost Rs.700 crore due to summer unrest

Jmmu, Jan 19 (IANS) The Jammu and Kashmir government lost Rs.700 crore during last year's summer unrest in the Kashmir Valley by way of damage to infrastructure and cost of ferrying employees to their duties, an official source said.
This figure does not include the loss the state suffered in the tourism and industrial sectors.
The losses were due to the damage to public property, police stations, railway stations and public transport during the summer unrest in Kashmir, which left 112 people dead.

Kashmir interlocutors ask BJP to reconsider flag hoisting plan

Three interlocutors on Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday made a forceful plea to the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) to "reconsider" its decision to hoist the national tricolour in Srinagar's Lal Chowk. Briefing media about their fourth visit of the state, the interlocutors said they were making this 
suggestion because of the situation in the valley.

Without Pandits, Kashmir is incomplete: Omar Abdullah

NEW DELHI: The Jammu and Kashmir government is making constant efforts to bring back Kashmiri Pandits to the Valley as without them, Kashmir is incomplete, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said on Wednesday. 
"It is our constant endeavour to bring back Kashmiri Pandits, who had left the Valley due to loss of sense of security. We want them to come back to a good atmosphere where they can feel secure. Without their return, Kashmir is incomplete," he told reporters here.

Cold conditions remain unabated in Kashmir; Kargil coldest

Cold conditions continued unabated in Kashmir division as Kargil town was the coldest place in the region at a low of minus 21 degrees Celsius.
The mercury in Kargil town in Ladakh region plunged by more than four notches and settled at a low of minus 21 deg C, a MeT department official said.

J&K Police started drive against black marketing of essential commodities

Jan 18:In a drive against black marketing of essential commodities, the Jammu and Kashmir Police today arrested six persons and seized over 200 cooking gas cylindersin the Valley, official sources said.  Acting on a complaint, the police arrested four personsincluding an employee of a gas agency in Ganderbal districtheadquarters, the sources said.

PAC inspected District Hospital Islamabad

Jan. 18:Public Accounts Committee, headed by MLA A. R. Veeri along with MLA Nazir Gurezi and MLA Mohammad Shafi Wani today inspected District Hospital Islamabad coming up at the cost of Rs. 59.55 crore spread over 22 kannal of land. The committee took stock of the present construction activities of the hospital. Director Health services, Chief Medical officer and other senior officers of the Health and JPCC construction company accompanied the MLA during his visit.

Special tour for Militancy effected Children in March:GOC


Islamabad Jan 17: Indian Army under’ Operation Sadbhavna' conducted educational tour for 34 students of Army Goodwill Public school Phalgam. Maj. Gen Gurdeep Singh, GOC Victor Force on Monday flagged-in the Tour.
While talking to reports GOC Gurdeep Singh said, “we are going to organize a special tour for militancy effected children in March month of this year,” he encouraged the students for the completion of the tour and motivated the students to accomplish a better and bright future for themselves, the state and the country as a whole.
“The army organizes the tour to expose young students to developments taking place in other parts of the country,” he said

Eighteen killed in Pakistan bus blast

Eighteen people were killed when an explosion ripped through a minibus travelling in a militant-infested area of north-western Pakistan today, police said.
There were conflicting reports as to whether the blast was caused by a bomb or by the gas cylinder used to power the vehicle.
The bus was travelling between the cities of Hangu and Kohat, which are close to Pakistan's lawless tribal region.

ndia wants to stifle Kashmiris’ struggle forcefully: Inqilabi

Srinagar, January 17 (KMS):APHC leader and the patron of Jammu and Kashmir Mahaz-e-Azadi, Muhammad Azam Inqilabi, has said that India wants to suppress Kashmiris’ ongoing liberation struggle through use of brute force.
Muhammad Azam Inqilabi in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Indian government had never shown sincerity in resolving the Kashmir dispute. “India should give up its intransigent stance on Kashmir and take concrete steps to settle the long-pending dispute,” he added.

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Monday criticised the Jammu and  Kashmir government for not implementing Prime Minister's package to settle Kashmiri migrants in the state.

As per unofficial reports, around 300,000 Kashmiri Pandits were forced to migrate out of the valley as a result of insurgency that broke in 1989-90. Hundreds of Pandits are still languishing in refugee camps in Jammu and elsewhere.

Kashmir in grip of cold wave, Dal lake freezes partially

Srinagar: Intense cold wave gripped Kashmir division leaving many water bodies and water supply pipes frozen causing hardships to the residents of the Valley.
The sub-zero temperature has resulted in partial freezing of many water bodies, including the Dal Lake in the city, officials said.
Drinking water supply in many areas remained suspended due to freezing of the pipes. Residents of old Barzulla, Rambagh, Natipora, Chanapora, Batamaloo and Aloochibagh claimed that they are without water supply for the past two days.
The minimum temperature in Srinagar city, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, fell by 0.4 notch to settle at minus 4.1 degrees Celsius, a MeT department official said.

Strike on Saturday against detention of leaders

Srinagar, January 13 (KMS):Complete strike will be observed on Saturday while protest demonstrations will be held after Juma prayers, tomorrow, against the continued illegal detention of Hurriyet leaders and activists Call for the strike and protests has been given by veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani. In a statement issued in Srinagar, he said that India had failed to suppress the Kashmir liberation movement through use of brute force as the people of Kashmir had pledged to continue their liberation struggle till its logical end.
