Srinagar, January 13 (KMS):Complete strike will be observed on Saturday while protest demonstrations will be held after Juma prayers, tomorrow, against the continued illegal detention of Hurriyet leaders and activists Call for the strike and protests has been given by veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani. In a statement issued in Srinagar, he said that India had failed to suppress the Kashmir liberation movement through use of brute force as the people of Kashmir had pledged to continue their liberation struggle till its logical end.
He said that the political detainees were living in the most pathetic situation and were deprived of basic human facilities including medical care.
On the other hand, the relatives of several illegally detained civilians lodged in Kathua jail in Jammu region while talking to newsmen said that the jail authorities were not allowing them to meet the detainees that was quite against the standards of international law.
In Manchester, addressing a seminar, members of the House of Lords, Lord Tariq Ahmed and Yasmeen Qureshi said that the Kashmir dispute needed to be resolved without any further delay and the involvement of the Kashmiri people in finding out the solution was a must.
Meanwhile, China has expanded its stapled visa regime to Arunachal Pradesh as the Chinese Embassy in New Delhi issued stapled visas to two Arunchalee sportsmen. The Indian officials prevented these players from boarding the flight at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi. China has already been issuing stapled visas to the Kashmiris for being the residents of a disputed territory
