Politics transformed from social service to corporate business in Omar's regime: PDP
JAMMU: The PDP Spokesman Mr A K Sawhney (Advocate) today demanded that the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly should disqualify Mr Mubarak Gul, NC MLA from Iddgah and presently holding the post of Political Advisor to Chief Minister Mr Omar Abdullah with the status of a Cabinet Minister.
He demanded that the Speaker should refer this question to the High Court for a Judgment on the point of Constitutional importance.
He referred to an expose published by a local Jammu based daily in its issue dated 1st March 2010, wherein it was exposed that besides holding the post of a sitting MLA / Legislator and Advisor to CM on Cabinet Minister status, the said NC MLA was also indulging into commercial activities and entering to contracts worth lakhs with the Door Darshan Kashir Channel.
Mr A K Sawhney said that the law, morality and ethics demand that the MLA holing the cabinet Minister status should not keep "selling his position" and entering into contracts with the Govt and PSUs.
He said that the NC led Govt was not a welfare Govt but a corporate company and all are busy minting money, some in schools colleges business, some in transfer industry and there is an entire loot in the state by these Ministers.
The PDP strongly condemned the said loot at the hands of the Ministers and MLAs and using their political position and powers these NC Ministers and MLAs were busy in minting money.
Sawhney today a dig at the Chief Minister who thinks that a Chief Minister is like a CEO of a multinational company and has to works five days and week and using the taxpayer's aircraft the CM flies off to his family and friends either out of state or out of country to enjoy the vacations. Likewise the motto of this NC led Company called Govt is make maximum profits and fill the pockets. Politics has been transformed from a social service to corporate business in Omar's regime, he alleged.
The PDP alleged that the NC Ministers and MLAs are sucking the tax payer's money in aircraft sorties or in their commercial activities like contracts from Govt and making profits and are least bothered about the problems of the common masses, like shortage of ration, water, electricity. He said that prices of essential commodities are sky rocketing but the Govt is doing nothing except for making transfers and postings to make their business flourish.
