Tarigami has urged upon the government to address the grievances put forth by the media fraternity in Kashmir.

Srinagar 10 July 2010: CPI (M) State Secretary, Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami has urged upon the government to address the grievances put forth by the media fraternity in Kashmir. In a statement issued today, Tarigami while reacting to the peaceful sit-in staged by the media fraternity in Srinagar asked the government not to put curbs on the professional duties of the fourth estate as has been alleged by the protesting journalists.

Tarigami expressed solidarity with all the media persons who were assaulted during these days and condemned the attack on senior journalist Riyaz Masroor.

The CPI (M) State Secretary stressed upon the government to look into the complaints of harassment of the journalists, while performing their duties.
