India is secular in spirit. It is secular at the heart of its people.
But the policy of the party that has been ruling India for 60 years is not secular.
The govt. of India (headed by the Comgress party) has been discriminatory to the point of appeasing religious fundamentalists.
The best example is the Shahbano case.
